The Mosel river valley is richly adorned with an array of medieval castles, historic cities, vineyards and romantic wineries. Wine has long been a part of Mosel's history as its good climate has kept it a profitable area for wine-growing. The area produces mainly light, delicate white wines. The main centre of the Mosel wine region is the port town of Trier. The eldest city in Germany, Trier was once the centre of the Roman Empire north of the Alps. The Romans certainly have left their influence on the city, including in the form of its amphitheatre, the Emperor's thermal spring, the Porta Nigra, the triumphal arc, the Basilika and the medieval city walls.

You are staying in one central hotel in the romantic town of Bernkastel, the pearl of the Moselle. You will cycle through Neumagen-Dhron, the oldest winetown in Germany. During the tour Daun-Bernkastel, you are leaving the Vulkan Eifel and arrive at the Moselle. Other beautifull things you pass by are the historical Wittlich, the cozy Zltingen and the very charming Jugendstil jewel Traben-Tarbach.
